Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted businessman and philanthropist in Zambia. For the past 30 years, he has been working tirelessly for building an empire and side by side, works for the betterment of the Zambian nation. Majority of his companies has given high importance to the underprivileged sections of the society and continue to do so. These include but now limited to companies such as Mahtani Group of Companies and Finsbury Investments. His companies such as Finance Bank Zambia have also received numerous awards and achievements for working towards the underdeveloped sections of the society. Furthermore, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has devoted significant part of his life for charity works as well as for philanthropic activities. At the same time, his philanthropic and charity works are often highlighted as PR stunts like other companies and individuals do so for self-publicity or promotions of their organisations.
As a result, majority of the individuals who attended the African Summit 2017 were unaware of the significant financial contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani. These contributions were made public after the Chief Press Secretary of the event released a press release. As per the press release, the Chief Secretary praised Dr. Rajan Mahtani for his significant contribution and thanked him for making the African Forum a success. The summit was a major platform for companies, corporate individuals as well as noted personalities from different field to join together in one platform and discuss about the various critical issues gripping the country at present. As such, the summit also resulted in various successful business relationships, contracts and networking, further improving the business and corporate scenario of the nation.
