Dr. Rajan Mahtani has spent many years promoting the welfare and general social and economic advancement of Zambia and its citizens. The Forbes “Best of Africa” award ceremony was recently held during the FIN “Philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference,” which was organized by Forbes. One of the most anticipated and sought-after business events in Africa is the FIN roundtable conference. The FIN event typically takes place in New York. However, due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s FIN event was held online, and participants took part from various places. Additionally, YouTube has been used to Livestream events around the world. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, who was also invited to the event and served as an honorary speaker, discussed the value of leadership in healthcare, which has become even more apparent in light of the pandemic. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was honored for his charitable work with Prison Fellowship Zambia, the Stephen Malama Award, and the Scholarship for the Best Law Graduates in Zambia, in addition to his services to the banking industry in Zambia. His organization Prison Fellowship recently made headlines when the president of Zambia declared that his country would abolish the death penalty fundamentally. The mission of the well-known Christian outreach program Prison Fellowship Zambia is to spread the teachings of Jesus Christ to Zambian prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families. Additionally, the initiative seeks to protect the prisoners’ core human rights, basic human dignity, and access to an open criminal justice system. As a result, according to Dr. Rajan Mahtani, Prison Fellowship Zambia would offer the Zambian President’s decision complete legal and regulatory backing and will ensure that the decision from the Zambian President becomes a reality soon.
