Dr. Rajan Mahtani – Visionary, Leader, and Philanthropist
Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a Zambian, born on 14th February 1948 is considered as one of the most versatile business-mind of Zambia in recent time. In a career that expands beyond 40 years now, he has been a pillar of financial and management support to some of the prime institutions in Zambia, including Finance Bank of Zambia.
Right from his early, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was a supporter of good faith and hard work. Most of his promising ventures have circled around offering employment to fellow Zambians and producing quality solutions at an affordable price. May it be the Finance Bank of Zambia or Zambezi Portland Cement factory, every time Dr. Mahtani came out as a visionary and offered unparallel support to the economy of Zambia. However, there has been numerous conspiracies against his name as some corrupt and powerful people in Zambia wished to exploit the locals.
As a result of malicious attempt, Dr. Rajan Mahtani vacated his Chairman seat for Finance Bank of Zambia. Within the next few months, another conspiracy hatched in Zambezi Portland Cement Factory and the minority shareholders of the factory took over the control by force. With a view to safeguard the interest of the existing workers in the factory, on 13th April 2015, Dr. Mahtani agreed to surrender his claim over the factory.
Being a man of high moral, Dr. Mahtani has never used force or his influential power to overrun any agenda. He remains hopeful of the fact that the Zambian Law will safeguard his interest and offer justice. On 28 July 2015, Dr. Mahtani won a case in the Malawi High Court where Nyasa Times was held guilty for publishing defamatory articles against his name. On the other hand, on 19 November 2015, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani won another case in the Lusaka High Court where conspirators had tried to reopen an already closed cased against Dr. Mahtani.
Time and over again, it has been proved that evil cannot win against good. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has always worked on working for the good and has not been bothered by negative people who try to make personal gains out of exploiting the nation. The country Zambia has indeed found one of the best leaders in recent time. Sadly, there are a few who consider him to an enemy as it refuses to bow down to evil.
